POI details
From the village square, this tour leads you after the sports centre on the left up the steep forest path to the idyllic mountain lake. Take a deep breath and then follow the trail on the left across lush meadows to Alpe Äbnet, cross under the Hannigalpbahn railway and hike uphill for a short distance before following the trail on the left into the larch forest. Here you move along the refreshing Wasserleite until you follow the trail under the Bärgji lift across the meadow at the edge of the forest. The trail leads you into the opposite part of the forest down into the Bärgji and to the Hohtschuggen viewpoint.
From Visp you take the train to St. Niklaus. There you change to the bus, which gets you to Grächen every half hour. On weekends a direct bus operates from Visp to Grächen. Find full timetable information at www.cff.ch
