POI details

Starting from the village square, this route leads you steeply up the forest path on the left after the sports center to the idyllic mountain lake. Take a deep breath and then follow the path to the left over lush meadows to the Alpe Äbnet, go under the Hannigalpbahn and hike a little further uphill before following the path to the left into the larch forest. Here you move along the refreshing Wasserleite until you follow the path at the forest edge under the Bärgji lift over the meadow. The path leads you down into the opposite forest area into Bärgji and to the viewpoint Hohtschuggen.

From Visp, take the train to St. Niklaus. There, change to the PostAuto, which takes you every half hour to Grächen. On weekends, a direct bus runs from Visp to Grächen. Detailed timetables for trains and PostAutos can be found at sbb.ch.
