On the section from the sports centre to the Lourdes Grotto, 14 Stations of the Cross line the path. These engraved stone panels and also the two statues (grotto) were created by the Grächen artist Ewald Brigger.

POI details

From the village square, this tour takes you up a steep forest path to the left after the sports centre to the lake. Take a deep breath and then follow the trail on the left across lush meadows to Alpe Äbnet, cross under the Hannigalp railway and continue through the refreshing larch forest. Follow the signs via Riti to Bärgji.

From Visp take the train to St. Niklaus. There you change to the Post Bus which takes you to Grächen every half hour. On weekends, there is a direct bus service from Visp to Grächen. Find full timetable information at www.cff.ch
