POI details

The first part of this hike takes you relaxed through the car-free part of Grächen. The route is relatively flat and on wide, mostly asphalted paths. Follow the signs to Gasenried, which will lead you through the refreshing larch forest. From Gasenried, the trail becomes more demanding and goes steadily uphill. The trail climbs steeply through the forest below the glacier gate to the ridge at 2322 metres altitude.

From Visp take the train to St. Niklaus. There you change to the Post Bus which takes you to Grächen every half hour. On weekends, there is a direct bus service from Visp to Grächen. Find full timetable information at www.cff.ch
