Information
Various hiking trails continue from Gasenried. You have the choice. Whether rather easy to Grächen or more challenging up to the glacier gate. A motorized option is also available. You can take the Postbus down the valley.

At the beginning of this tour, your hiking boots will lead you gently uphill along the trail. Later you follow the path through the refreshing larch forest. Part of the route takes you on the paved road, but you will repeatedly leave it to take the hiking trail to gain elevation. Before Chäschermattu, you leave the road to hike upwards along the edge of the forest, leaving Käscher-matten to the right. If you follow the signs to Gasenried, you will shortly reach the small mountain settlement. Your path leads you past the chapel, and once you arrive at the destination, you will find it hard to tear yourself away from the view of the Ried glacier.
