Information
For hikers and all those who love very good food, the Bärgji-Alp restaurant is an absolute highlight. Nestled in the fantastic Valais mountain landscape, the view of the Matterhorn and the Bietschhorn alone is overwhelming. The Bärgji was first mentioned in the chronicles in 1936 and since then the Andenmatten-Williner family has been looking after the well-being of all guests from near and far. The restaurant is the centre of the family and so the self-confident words of the then 6-year-old Tobias Williner are not surprising: "I'm going to be a chef and then take over the Bärgji."
He kept his word and has been working diligently on his dream ever since. Now, together with his partner Nicole Hofmann, he is continuing the successful tradition in the 4th generation. They stand for a colourful variety of dishes in excellent quality, from traditional Valais dishes to modern, vegetarian and vegan creations. Regional and seasonal raw materials are used on the cooker. These are skilfully processed, seasoned and refined with colourful herbs and flowers. A visit to the Bärgji-Alp restaurant is a true taste experience for all the senses.
