39) St. Niklaus – Sparren – Jungtal
Information
You hike steadily uphill. For the return journey, you can continue hiking to Jungen Alp and picnic by the lake or stop at the restaurant, then return down the valley from the Jungen mountain station on the rustic gondola.

In St. Niklaus, you go under the railway tracks through a tunnel and follow the signpost. The path takes you steadily uphill through the refreshing larch forest. After about 1.5 km, you repeatedly pass under the gondola again and keep left on the forest path towards Sparru and Jungtal. The trail through the larch forest winds uphill in switchbacks and becomes rockier up to 2361 m above sea level.
