545) Grächen Loop: Dorf – Z'Seew– Bärgji – Bina – Dorf

Distance 10.38 km
Duration 1:35 Hours
Difficulty easy

Information

If you are not in a hurry, you can stop at the Bärgji-Alp restaurant and enjoy the spectacular view of the surrounding peaks from the Matterhorn to the Bietschhorn from the terrace. Or just a kilometre further on, at the Hohtschuggen vantage point, let your gaze wander down over Stalden and Visp to the Rhone Valley.

This technically and conditionally not too difficult round tour is very well suited to getting to know the trails around Grächen. This tour includes everything that characterises the region: Wide, gentle forest paths, crisp ascents, root-covered downhills and narrow single trails.

At the Titter junction, before the last 100 metres or so of altitude difference back to the village, there is the option of extending the tour in the direction of Kalpetran and on to St. Niklaus. You can reckon with about 1.5 hours for this worthwhile additional variant. You can expect 600 metres of finest single trail down to Kalpetran and for the way back to St. Niklaus, on a well rideable path (hiking trail no. 41), there is an additional 300 m of ascent.

The Grächen Loop is only signposted in one direction: Grächen -> Z'Seew -> Taa -> Bärgji -> Chummulti -> Bina -> Grächen

POI details

The Family Loop starts in the village centre, past the Hannigalp valley station and continues along the Flurstrasse. After the moderate ascent of approx. 150 metres in altitude on the tar and gravel road, the highest point of the tour is already reached in the refreshing larch forest. The first, short descent and the subsequent counter-ascension require a little more concentration. Continue on the wide field path past the Grächner See lake, uphill to the "Alpe Äbnet" junction and from here on a wide trail towards the Taa pub and finally past the Bärgji. Following the gravel path, the trail leads you through a sharp left turn, rolling along a remote, narrow single trail with fun descents and short counter ascents back to Grächen.

Regelmässige Zugverbindung von der ganzen Schweiz nach St.Niklaus und anschliessend per Postauto nach Grächen
