POI details

This hike takes you downhill from the picturesque Grächner See, past the village square and through the car-free area of the mountain community. It offers plenty of variety with views of the lake, playgrounds, traditional buildings, lush flower meadows and the imposing mountain backdrop. After the Hannigalp Hotel, turn right and follow the somewhat steep earthy path along the lush meadows down to Niedergrächen. Here you cross the road and follow the trail to Greechbiel.

From Visp take the train to St. Niklaus. There you change to the Post Bus which takes you to Grächen every half hour. On weekends, there is a direct bus service from Visp to Grächen. Find full timetable information at www.cff.ch
