Mountain Music Festival
From 19 to 21 September 2025, the idyllic village square in Grächen will become the centre of the Swiss brass band scene. Top-class brass band music will be performed by the specially assembled Mountain Music Orchestra, the Christoph Walter Orchestra, the Innsbrucker Böhmischen and the Dorfspatzen Oberägeri – brass band music at its best. For the first time in Switzerland, the audience will be invited to join in on various pieces – creating a ‘Woodstock of brass music’ atmosphere in Grächen.
Thanks to the culinary delights on offer at the festival site, the various performances by small ensembles and the MMF party in the marquee on Friday and Saturday evenings, even those who don't play brass instruments will get their money's worth.
Mountain Music Orchestra
Christoph Walter is putting together a wind orchestra of 50 talented musicians especially for the Mountain Music Festival. Under his direction, the 25 professional musicians and 25 of the best amateurs from the region will rehearse and conjure up a unique concert experience on the Grächen Festival stage. The orchestra will not only reinterpret old classics, but also incorporate modern compositions and local folk music to reflect a broad spectrum of musical influences.
One of the highlights will certainly be the involvement of the musicians in the audience, who will be allowed to accompany the orchestra on some pieces with their own instruments. After the concert on the large festival stage, the MMF party and Walter Keller will continue in the festival tent.
7:30 pm to 9 pm, village square Grächen
Christoph Walter Orchestra
Christoph Walter's career path took him from the top of Swiss military music to his own show orchestra, which regularly performs on Switzerland's biggest gala stages under the name ‘Christoph Walter Orchestra’. Stars such as Amy Macdonald, Anastacia and Donna Summer have already performed with the orchestra and were thrilled by Christoph Walter's incomparable flair for great entertainment. With his show orchestra, he celebrates an almost limitless repertoire – including in Grächen!
The Christoph Walter Orchestra also plays some pieces together with the audience. During the day, there will be concerts by various bands such as the Planggorni brass band, the Blechapella brass band, the Polkafreunde brass band and the Vanessa brass band. In the evening, we will celebrate the MMF party in the marquee.

Die Innsbrucker Böhmische
This ensemble is known for its traditional Bohemian brass music and plays a diverse selection of marches, polkas and waltzes. The musicians bring the lively tradition of brass music from the Innsbruck region and surrounding area to life. Many believe that Woodstock der Blasmusik, which now attracts 100,000 visitors, would never have been so successful without this brass band.
11:00 am to 1:00 pm: Innsbrucker Bömische
Dorfspatzen Oberägeri
Together with the Innsbrucker Böhmischen, the Dorfspatzen Oberägeri will bring the Mountain Music Festival to a spectacular close with a matinee concert and Sunday brunch.
