The tour starts in the centre of Grächen and leads in the first part via Gasenried to ‘Schalbettu’. The route is slightly uphill, partly on gravel paths, and leads through a very beautiful forest. From ‘Schalbettu’ you cross the Riedbach and after a few hundred metres on the gravel road, this leads into a wonderful trail. This initially leads along the contour lines into the Mattertal for about 2 km. The view is breathtaking and characterised by a high alpine mountain world. Some classics such as the Weisshorn and the Zinalrothorn stand out imposingly and promise a great experience. The descent and trail fun starts at the ‘Balmu’ area. The single trail is versatile, varied and of the best quality. Trail fun is guaranteed all the way to Mattsand and from here you can connect back to St. Niklaus on the Visp-Zermatt trail (no. 150).
