POI details
Hannigalp is easily accessible either via a gravel road or by gondola lift from Grächen village. From Hannigalp, the tour initially climbs steeply via ‘Chleini Furgge’ to ‘Küchenwang’. From here, it is worth tackling the additional 50-metre ascent on foot to enjoy the view from the Wannehorn. The Wannehorn offers a fantastic panoramic view of the southern Valais and Bernese Alps. From ‘Küchenwang’ the trail widens a little and leads to the second vantage point ‘Heidnische Tossu’. On the opposite side of the valley, the mountain peaks of the Augstbord region can be seen all the way to the Mattertal. From this vantage point, the circular route leads back to Hannigalp via ‘Stafel’.
Take the train from Visp to St. Niklaus, then the bus from there to Grächen, and finally the cable car up to Hannigalp. For regular train and bus connections, see https://www.sbb.ch/ and https://www.postauto.ch/de/fahrplan
